We are very sorry to report that the Hind's Head in Kingston Bagpuize has been sold to a national supermarket chain to be developed as convenience store. Planning application is currently being considered by White Horse District Council. CAMRA is opposed to the sale of any viable village local, and had made representations to the local parish council to list the pub as an Asset of Community Value (ACV). Unfortunately inaction by the parish council seems likely to have deprived the village of yet another pub; the Lamb & Flag in nearby Longworth was closed and slated for redevelopment as a house at the end of last year.
